The European Commission insists on linking the retirement age to the projected life expectancy. But first the European Commission plans to hold a debate on this subject, because the demographic situation in Europe is in poor condition. Many European countries are against such a pension policy. In their view, it would be better to strengthen the pension system by introducing new taxes. Also, despite the promised increase in life expectancy (women - from 82 to 89, men - from 76 to 84), many European politicians skeptical of these projections.
