Data were published the third report of the Commission's demographic
Data were published the third report of the Commission's demographic

Every two years the European Commission publishes the demographic report. This year, April 1, presented the results of the third of them. According to studies, fertility in Europe is increasing, but these improvements are not enough to ensure population replacement. Thus, the birth rate increased, reaching 1.6 children per 1 woman, but to exit the demographic crisis, it is necessary that this level was 2.1 children per 1 woman. The EU's population increased by 1.2 million people simply because of migration.

Also, the data showed that the number of people in Europe over 60 years increases by 2 million people, and life expectancy on average increases by 2-3 months (the duration of life of European men was 76.4 years and women - 82.4 years). This leads to a reduction in workforce. In this connection European Commission plans to adapt its policies under the demographic phenomenon.
