Berlusconi to resign
Berlusconi to resign

talian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to resign after the approval of Parliament a package of measures aimed at reducing the fiscal and economic reforms promised by the head of the Italian government at the recent EU summit. This was announced on Tuesday, Italian President Giorgio Napolitano after meeting with Berlusconi.

Earlier in the parliamentary vote on the bill, the adoption of budgetary expenditures in 2010, it became apparent that the present government already does not have an absolute majority. Opposition leaders said that these results imply the failure of the cabinet, and that the country expects the immediate resignation of Prime Minister.
