May 14, 2014, under auspices of the European Economic Chamber a roundtable discussion on "The Crisis in Ukraine: Sources of origin and ways to overcome" had been held. The co-organizers of the event: the Institute of Evolutionary Economics and "Macro" Innovation Centre.
The participants of the roundtable discussion - leading analysts and experts of international level: Evgen Kopatko (“Research & Branding Group” company), Mykola Ivchenko (“Forex Club” Information-Analytical Centre), Eric Naiman ("Capital Times" Investment Company), Igor Makarenko (Institute of Evolutionary Economics); representatives of foreign companies - Valerii Bazylenko (ASUS), domestic businesses - Yurii Shchyrin (AIM), Evgen Grabov (Tekhinvest); representatives of the executive authorities, as well as public organizations.
During the roundtable discussion the participants focused their attention on the problems that caused the crisis in Ukraine, and their derivatives; propositions on the ways to overcome them were given.
This event is the first one been held within a planned series of Roundtable discussions of expert environment. The primary task was to exchange views, develop a shared vision of the situation development. Results of follow-up meetings should be a program of actions, which the expert community can offer the governmental authorities and the public, aimed primarily at stopping the crisis processes in the Ukrainian economy and its transition into a phase of active development.
